As my work shifted from a focus on smaller, precious pieces about animals to more figurative and large scale, I became interested in documenting the stages of the painting as a way to develop insight into my decision making as I moved through each piece. I do not see this series as works in isolation, but rather as a collection of works that directly reflect my state of being, which is fluid and progressive.
Photos of each stage were taken at the end of every painting session, typically ranging from 1-3 hours at a time.
